Lenny Beach is a Portland based intermedia major at the Pacific Northwest College of Art. She recontextualizes technology and religion through her experimental video work, performances, and immersive installations. These practices come from her own spiritual journey and divinely channeling those experiences through a modern context wanting to share those visions with a wider audience. Pulling inspiration from Catholic Mysticism, identity, nature and sound, she uses her love of imperfect technology to play with reframing ancient ideologies of religion.
She loves to collaborate with other artists and musicians for music videos and visuals for shows to help cultivate a complete visual, auditory and physical experience for the audience.
Lenny prefers to work with physical and analog forms of technology. Often incorporating CRT's, vintage camcorders, VHS tapes, CD's, DVD's, and having them be a crucial part of her work. By choosing to work with digital relics, she asks the viewer to be present, and even interact with the physical objects that are the frames and containers for her art.
