The Girl Who Misses Much (2024)
CRT Tv, sound, dress, c-stand, Maybelline Lipstick (color Divine Wine)
As part of the PNCA Exhibition "*a fool looks at the finger that points at the sky". The exhibition, curated by Jason Le, focused on performance ephemera. It asks, "what happens to the objects after they have been activated? Did what actually happen, happen?"
The Girl Who Misses Much is a re-performance of Pipilotti Rist's "Im Not the Girl Who Misses Much" (1986) Lenny pulls distinct elements from Rist's video piece, such as ecstatic movement, pitched up vocals, and abstraction of image to find her own relationship to her body, femininity, and the art of revealing exactly how much of herself she wants you to see.
Rewind (2024)
Cassette Tape, Tape Recorder, Headphones, Ursula K Le Guin poems (Hymn to Time, How It Seems to Me, To The Rain)
A performance piece done at PNCA First Thursday Event, also a part of the performance ephemera exhibition "*the fool looks at the finger that points at the sky". Lenny had individuals read sections of various Le Guin poems into a cassette recorder. Their words and phrases all strung together to fully construct and unify the poetry. Each poem was chosen for its themes of nature, human connection, and spiritual expansion.
